This year, Onduline celebrates its 80th anniversary—a remarkable opportunity to reflect on the memorable moments that have shaped the history of our company.
Through the stories of our colleagues, we embark on a journey through time, filled with unforgettable anecdotes, challenges overcome, and shared moments of camaraderie.
Unforgettable Moments
For many, the most significant memories go far beyond dates and numbers. Ela and Teresa fondly recall the first sheet produced at the Mielec plant in 2000, describing it as "the birth of our first child." This memory embodies Onduline's resilience and spirit of collaboration.
Tatiana humorously and nostalgically recounts her first trade fair in Eastern Europe after the fall of the Berlin Wall, as well as grand events such as the inaugurations of the Gallarta and Mielec plants. Alfonso, Juanma, Martin, Laurent have also listed these events as the most memorable.
A Unique Company Spirit
What stands out from these stories is the deep attachment to Onduline’s ethos. For Esin, “Onduline may be a corporate entity, but it is a company with a soul - both through its employees and its network of distributors”. Laurent underlines the cultural diversity is an unparalleled asset. Ayla emphasizes the family spirit of the company and the kindness that defines it. Tatiana appreciates to work in the morning with our Asian colleagues, then with the teams in Turkey and Europe, and to end and to end with Americas. For Alfonso, Onduline is far more than a job—"it’s a passion, it is a religion.” After 31 years with the company, he stresses the importance of promoting the future while celebrating past achievements.
Onduline Described as Feelings and Objects
How do you describe Onduline? The answers vary, but they all illustrate the profound impact of the company on its people. Ayla sees it as a “red roof,” symbolizing protection and warmth. Martin compares it to a “strong and reliable umbrella,” always there to weather the storms. For Tatiana, Onduline is a “world map,” reflecting the connections and international relationships built over the years. Both Alfonso and Juanma point out the commitment of the entire team and their professional growth. Laurent compares Onduline to a "balance," a symbol of fairness and stability, values that endure through crises and time.
A Promising Future
While celebrating 80 years of history, we also look to the future. As Ela pointed out, Onduline’s strength lies in its team spirit and positive work environment. Juanma adds that past and present successes are the result of everyone’s commitment and professionalism—qualities that will continue to drive Onduline towards new horizons.
This anniversary is a wonderful opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed to making Onduline what it is today: a company with a soul, a strong legacy, and a forward-looking vision. Let’s continue to write this beautiful story together!
