On November 11, 2024, Onduline celebrated a significant milestone with the grand opening of its new plant in Pasuruan, Indonesia. This event, filled with enthusiasm and optimism, underscores Onduline’s dedication to innovation, sustainability, and community impact.
With the theme “Unlocking Possibilities,” the new plant symbolizes Onduline’s commitment to creating new opportunities in the Indonesian and Asian markets. The event was meticulously planned and executed, showcasing the collaborative spirit of the entire team.
The celebration was graced by notable figures, including Grégoire Morel, Managing Director of Onduline Group, Onduline management from the Head Office and Asia Pacific, the Director General of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PU), local and central government officials, and the Director of PT Surabaya Industrial Estate Rungkut (SIER). Onduline customers and partners from Indonesia and Asia also attended, adding to the event’s significance. A traditional dance performance added a touch of local culture, warmly welcoming guests and highlighting Onduline’s respect for local traditions.
Guests were treated to a tour of the state-of-the-art facility, where they witnessed the advanced production technologies that ensure high-quality roofing solutions. The plant features an impregnation line and a painting line, providing more color possibilities for bitumen roofing. Additionally, the facility includes an R&D center for Asia and a training center dedicated to the development, training, and education of stakeholders.
Onduline’s commitment to sustainability was evident throughout the event. The plant integrates energy-saving technologies, uses recycled materials, and is on track for ISO 14001 certification. This dedication to environmental responsibility is matched by a strong focus on local impact, with 85% of the workforce hailing from Pasuruan, directly boosting the local economy.
Supporting government policies on local content, Onduline aims for a Higher Domestic Component Level (TKDN), further enhancing local employment and production. The new plant not only strengthens Onduline’s business foundation in Indonesia but also supports national development projects with roofing solutions fit to the local climate and geography.
