Kingspan, the global leader in high-performance insulation and building envelope solutions, has indeed been recognised for its commitment to environmental transparency and performance. The company has secured a coveted spot on the annual ‘A List’ published by CDP, a global environmental non-profit.
CDP assesses companies on behalf of over 740 financial institutions with assets totalling over US$136 trillion. Each year, thousands of companies disclose their environmental targets, performance, and impact to CDP, which then scores them from D- to A. To get on the A-List, a company needs a solid climate strategy, targets, and at least 4.2% annual emissions reductions.
Of the 21,000 companies scored by CDP, Kingspan was one of the 346 companies that made it to the 2023 CDP Climate Change A List. This recognition demonstrates Kingspan’s commitment to a net-zero emissions future through its 10-year Planet Passionate sustainability program.
Interestingly, only 10% of the companies disclosing to CDP, including Kingspan, have established renewable energy targets. Kingspan has already achieved a 26% absolute reduction in its scope 1 and 2 emissions since 2020 and aims to achieve net-zero carbon manufacturing by 2030.
The company’s climate ambition aligns with a 1.5⁰C trajectory and emphasizes emissions reduction over offsetting, with targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Kingspan’s position on the CDP A-List is a recognition of its dedication to its sustainability goals and its progress so far.
This achievement serves as a reminder that Kingspan is on the right path and that its strategy is working.
